At Mozart, Earhart & Me, we focus on feeding and enhancing the right side of the brain. This part of the brain experiences music, art, intuition, emotions, the flexibility of thinking, problem-solving, creative planning, spotting new possibilities, interaction with others, and much more. It is often referred to as the creative side of the brain, while the left side of the brain is focused on language, math, fact gathering, keeping records, order, detail, and structure, just to name a few. This side is often referred to as the analytical side of the brain.
Located in Downtown Benicia and Downtown Livermore, we carry musical instruments and accessories and have a full and varied staff of excellent teachers & recommendations. We also rent band & string instruments and encourage young students to experience the joy and creativity of playing music solo and as a band. Voice is also a skill we teach…our own built-in musical instrument!
We recently gave the store a NEW NAME!
What was once known as Mozart, Einstein & Me is now Mozart, Earhart & Me!
We felt it was time to honor and recognize the contributions of women in history.
Amelia Earhart is a symbol of American women's strength, perseverance, and adventurous spirit that is so integral to the American persona. An advocate for equality and promoter of STEM education for all, she is an inspiration and has shown that anything is possible!
Stan Houston has experience in music, science, math and the arts. As both a parent and grandparent, he believes that each of these are critically important for children, and they strive to incorporate each into their product lines.
Stan has a wealth of career experiences from which to draw his inspiration, including: 14 years in the Coast Guard, studied music at Cal State Hayward, and even owned his own restaurant. As an inventor and manufacturer for 30 years, Stan's background as a plastics engineer gives him a unique perspective on business, product quality & value, and customer service. If that's not enough, he has also been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons for over 20 years, providing the inspiration for both children and adults to embed music as part of their lives.
As a parent and educator Lisa strives to encourage the use of hands-on educational toys that inspire and promote right-side brain development. Lisa has years of teaching experience through the homeschooling organizations Visions and Pathways. Specializing in History, Lisa taught various grade levels and included visual interpretation through art and crafts.
Lisa started her career at Mozart Einstein and Me in 2016 and has grown into the position of managing its original store in Benicia.
As one of the buyers at Mozart, she is constantly recommending products that are appropriate and interesting to all ages and those with special needs.
If you ask her the favorite part of her job she’ll smile broadly and say “customer service”. Lisa inspired us all to offer free gift wrapping to all customers and goes out of her way to find special products for those in need whether it is in our stores or other stores.
